How long does it take for our hands to look aged?

 

As you age, it takes longer for your old skin cells to give way to new skin cells. An adult's skin cells renew themselves about every 28 days. For a baby, it takes about 14 days for the entire skin to be ‘new’.

This artwork portrays the impact of time and experience on our skin, with a specific focus on hands. Hands are more than just functional parts of our bodies; they hold tangible memories and form connections with the world around us. Each wrinkle and scar tells a story of encounters, touch, and actions. The texture of the skin reveals a life filled with interactions, where personal experiences are literally and visibly etched.
 

As we age, skin renewal slows down, symbolizing how memories accumulate and become more deeply rooted. The weathered hands reflect how time and experience shape our bodies and our surroundings, creating lasting connections.
