Julie Tuinman is a Dutch/French artist and filmmaker, currently based in
the city of Groningen, the Netherlands
When we tell stories, we pull from an immense archive of memories. When stories are told to us, we listen intently and focus on the narrative.
What if we shift that focus to the storyteller?
"Having been raised with multiple languages, I have picked up on differences in behaviours and situational approaches by my own family. Wondering if those habits had to do with the individual or not.
In the works, these differences and the questions that arise with them are explored. Media art complements my way of researching and allows for storytelling in the most graspable way while giving the freedom to time within the work."
